Hyper Cache 2.5.0
After moving Hyper Cache on this blog and after the latest release, I had a lot of feedback and analyzed a number of particular situation. Based on that, I changed the core of Hyper Cache and made a new version, 2.5.0.
This version totally changes the invalidation mechanics and try to solve problems with bigger blogs. The invalidation is now quick as a flash, because no file will be deleted on actions. The cache clean up is demanded to the autoclean process.
I know some of you set autoclean time to zero: it’s a wrong choice. Please, set it to 60 minutes, it does not overload your server and keep the cache performant.
The invalidation methods choice has changed: now there is “only” three invalidation methods and a flag to choose the cache behaviour when only single posts have to be invalidated. The last point is important: when a post is changed, home page(s), category pages, tag pages and so on have (usually) to be invalidated. This features was not working well, now I hope this is solved.
Please, if you update to version 2.5.0 keep care to enter the admin panel, check the new options and save them!
