Introducing Protector WordPress Plugin 1.1.0
I’ve just freely released Protector 1.1.0. Protector is a very simple plugin (see the plugin page) that can hide part of a post or a page. The hidden section can be unlocked by visitor accessing the post or page with a key added to the page address.
On the plugin page there are some examples. A basic usage can be this one: you create a premium content and want the users to subscribe your newsletter (o something else) to get it.
So you protect the premium content with protector and instead of the real content you display a message inviting the user to subscribe.
When the user subscribe, you send him a link to the same page with the key. so he can see the unlocked content. All that without creating complex page name, trying to hidden post or pages and so on.
WordPress has a basic password protection feature, but protector is a little bit more flexible.
ASAP I’ll write another article to explain how to integrate protector with Newsletter (before I have to complete some Newsletter modifications…).
