Share Your Personal Experience With Newsletter Plugin

I see from WordPress statistics page that my Newsletter plugin has many downloads per day. So I’m asking myself “what user think about thast plugin? Do they install and remove or them trying to use it?”

Would you share your positive or negative experience with Newsletter plugin? Are you using it or have you removed it and why?

Ok, let’s start with comments!

My excuses for my bad english but it's the only way I have to communicate with you. Would you suggest a correction? Leave a comment, thank you!

  1. Hi, I used Newsletter for several days and found it is a very good plugin. But I met an issue that, I want to put it in sidebar and when I use widget, after submitting there is no notification to say like Send Successful. So I try to use TEXT widget(wordpress default widget) and write [newsletter] in it, it works before but now it doesn’t and display [newsletter] in the sidebar. BTW I use wordpress 3.0.1 now.
    Any suggestion? Thanks..

  2. I am using the newsletter plugin,

However the shortcodes like {name}, {subscription_confirm_url} , {unsubscription_url} does not work as desired

It says Hello (Name missing from here)

some text with broken subscription_confirm_url as below

    ?na=c&ni=2&nt=73bb919bcc87656418e7fa788cf330c3

    Any idea?

  3. Thanks for great plugin :)

I have problem with visual editor – it’s gone. For some reason it is not appearing no more :( I’ve tried to reset the plugin but it didn’t help. I’m using wp 3.0 with 2010 theme. It’s not such a big problem but it’s annoying. What should I do?

    best regards
    kamil

  4. I noticed a Subscriber Profile feature. If the subscriber has a WordPress Registered User account is there a way that they can view their email newsletters while logged in?

  5. How do I remove ALL subscribers at once (i.e. unconfirmed AND confirmed)? There is only a button for unconfirmed entries (“Remove all unconfirmed”). I know the possibility of removing them one by one (in the “Subscribers”-menu), but with close to thousand entries, I am desperately needing a one-action-trick.

    Be.

  6. Finding that the appearance of the fields (on the blog page) is different depending on the browser – Chrome and Safari both have open boxes for the email – so it looks like a rectangle with no right side closed.

Be great to know how to fix this.

    Thanks for the plug in

  7. We’re contemplating getting the pro version this week, but we can’t get the subscription form to work for the free version. Plugin setup fine, put the signup form on – people can enter name and email to signup, but the email never goes out for the opt in, and they never get added under “subscribers”. I’ve tried this (to signup using the form) logged as admin on the backend, and logged out. I’ve had other people try filling out the form, doesn’t send them any email either?

Any ideas? Using Yahoo hosting on this site with your plugin…

  8. I would like to know how to use it. Where do I put the subscribers and where do I put my newsletter?

  9. Hi

I’ve sent out a few newsletters and they’ve worked fine. However now I’ve got about 30 in my subscriber list it doesn’t work anymore. Is this over the limit for non pro? Just get (page cannot be displayed) and nothing sent.

  10. Hi there,
    Love this plugin.
Its all i need, however, if i send the newsletter, it wont be deliverd.

how come? i,ve got the administrators email adres wich is working fine, but the subscribers dont recieve an email…

  11. Can I buy just Newsletter Pro plugin without paying for the membership?

  12. Can’t get the email to work at all in the free version.

    • I’ve tried resetting as well as the test and the simulation. Nothing.
Which email service does the free version use? Is it the WP emailer or its own?

  13. I really like the plug and did some modifings to fit my websites.
Overall it is a great plugin although it needs some essencial features.

What I don’t manage to do is to add subscribers. I have their names and email address and it still doesn’t work.
Where can I find instructions to do it?

  14. The subscribers get an email, tells them to confirm the subscription, and get an email like this:

    http:/?na=c&ni=2&nt=c29b020dc3759498c4e91252645d3f0f

Thus, the person can confirm subscription. I am using this plugging in 4 different websites. This happens in two websites, the other two never have the problem.

    Please help.

  15. The version of this plugin prior to 2.5 upgrade was excellent! Unfortunately, my host doesn’t allow cron jobs so it doesn’t work. Luckily I still had the install package from 1.5.9 and it works perfectly for what I need. I will no longer be clicking on the “automatic update” link in the plugin.

  16. Hello, this is a great plugin. What I’m missing though is a mass unsubscription function, where I can import a list of addresses to be unsubscribed in one step. I currently have about 3300 subscribers, about 600 of them are invalid addresses, and it would be very tedious work to unsubscribe them all individually …

  17. Hi,

I’m busy with the theme ‘with-picture’ but my readers complain about a font size wich is to small…
I’ve been searching for hours and I can’t find any css code about the font size… Where can I change the size op de ‘Paragraph’ font?!?

    Thanks in advance!
