How to use the Newsletter Extras statistics

When you have the Newsletter Extras package installed, the Composer shows up some new configuration parameters. The first one is the “email name”. This field is a free text field where to write a compact description of the newsletter you are sending.

Compact means 5 to 20 characters, like “october-issue” or “productx-dem”. That “name” will be used to query the statistics collection. Do you wonder why the Composer do not auto generate a name, may be using the subject?

Because, usually, the subject is a marketing piece of text and may not really refer to the real content or the real scope of the newsletter sent. Eg. if you are promoting a book on hair care, the subject may be: “Do you know you can be a lot attractive cutting you hair?”. The newsletter name can be “bookx-affiliate”.

The second important option you’ll see in Composer is a checkbox that, if checked, enable the statistics collection. Before sending a newsletter, be sure to check it.

Newsletter statistics are simple: you can see on which and how many times receivers clicked links in the newsletter body and you can see the count of those users. This measure the number of subscribers read the email and clicked on a link.

Links tracked are not only the ones pointing to your blog, all links are tracked and showed on statistics panel.
