I’m trying to translate in Pics Around in French. A friend sent me some phrases and then I’ve used the Google language tools, but I’m sure the translations of the last one are not good.

There is one of you who know french that want to check this two pages? There are many other page to translate, but at least the primary two are the most important:

Pole Dance World Map

May be it sounds out of topic here, but on Pics Around has just been started a new category: Pole Dance. The aim is to created the biggest pole dancers world map!

Pics Around: contest rules

On Pics Around there are photo contests. Now people ask: how can I raise the probability to win the prize with my photo? Is there a vote system?

No, a vote system on Pics Around photo contest isn’t there. But there is a referral program. When a photo is uploaded and confirmed, the owner receive a link.

This link can be used to invite friends to upload other photos on Pics Around. Every new photo added makes the original photo to gain a point.

Friends can upload photo in the contest category or in any other.

Two very easy to partecipate contests are now published on Pics Arouns: Kiss contest and Feet contest.

For both a simple prize: an Amazon Gift of 20$ and 30$.

Pics Around: body painting category added

A fresh new category has just been added to Pics Around: body painting.

Body Painting is a form of art celebrated all around the world and since the ancient ages. Even the primitives are used to painting their body and today with a lot of colors, tools and techniques widely available body painting is even more sofisticated than the painting of a classic picture.

Pics Around is on the road to launch a contest and give away an Amazon gift card. If you want to partecipate but there is not a category you find suitable, you can request for one or add it by your self!

Here you can see the Sport Illustrated team body painting some model for the 2008 SI Swimsuite edition (with Marisa Miller).

Pics Around little review

Ok, www.picsaround.com wasn’t working well, so I reviewed some piece of codo to make it (at least) working. Now it’s easy to add and manage your categories and embed the photo map into your site.

For WordPress blog owners there is a small, lite and simple plugin that does everything in seconds. The plugin is available here.

To create a category to be incorporated in your blog, just go here on Pics Around. After cofirmation via email, you get the category id to configure the plugin or the code to be embedded in any other site.

Pics Around needs testers

I’ve just put up the Pics Around plugin page. I need some testers who want to help me in try this plugin and it’s integration with Pics Around. Would you?

Pics Around

www.picsaround.com is a my experiment where I play with Google Maps and a bit of PHP. Pics Around collects pictures from user base on themes (bed jumping, tan lines, graduations) sticked on a world map.

Still in developement, but you can try it and let me know your impressions. The photo can be uploaded only in  JPEG format.
