Testing Comment Image

Take a moment to subscribe my newsletter:

Comment Image is a plugin I wrote for myself time ago. I’ve just tried to install on this blog to see if it works (it requires a lot of tuning and modifications).

If you want to test it, note on the comment form a new field where you can add a JPEG image to a comment.

Let’s test! :-)

My excuses for my bad english but it's the only way I have to communicate with you. Would you suggest a correction? Leave a comment, thank you!

    Stefano,

Your English is as bad as mine (I am from Holland).
Actually it is OK, no problem with that.

I realy would like to try your plugin, after you’re finished. Keep me updated please.

I just added a picture from a bug. I found this bug in my garden in the Philippines.
After submitting comes a white page saying:
    the page doesn’t exist.
I click to go to home page and from there to this page again.
Maybe one of the ‘bugs’ ??

Just testing to see how this works

  10. Great Idea and very useful for folks who want to ad pics with their comments, anything that generates visitor/ user interaction and makes them enjoy their visit to a website…

Sono liete di aiutarti provare il plugin. Probabilmente scrivo Italiano peggio di come scritte Inglese :) Se vedrei qualche “Inglese” proprio terribile, ti segnalessi.

Here is a pic for you, hope it works better on your site than on mine. I can upload pictures but they do not show in the comment. They are all in the folder. Using 2.8.6 with a slightly tweaked eos theme. Any ideas what the problem could be? If you want to check it go to http://7-books.net.

    • Stefano says:

If the theme extract comment text without using wordpress function, my plugin cannot intercept the call, but I really don’t know!

  26. SleepyJohn says:

    PS
I just checked the source and the pictures are shown OK in there. Also a picture linked to from another site using a different plugin does show OK. Weird. 3 pix here for your test.

  27. SleepyJohn says:

I found the problem. Close inspection of the image urls in the source showed me that the paths were wrong. I have WordPress installation in a directory in the main site, with the main index.php pointing to it. The paths in plugin.php were correct but the image urls were not. They needed the directory inserting. Path is /blog/wp-content/comment-image but is shown as wp-content/comment-image in the plugin and works. Urls, however, need the /blog inserting – /blog/wp-content/content-image. I have changed mine manually, but you might think how to fix this, as others will doubtless have installations like mine.

Lovely plugin now it works. Thanks for your efforts.

  28. SleepyJohn says:

    PS
Is there any way we can get the full size image to display using Lightbox?

  29. Wazomba says:

I adore the idea of allowing visitors to participate in site goodies by just giving something they like : images !

Like Sleepy John says : full size w/ Lighbox will be great.
And I say : It will be nice if image publishers could add a legend to each image.

I’m just waiting until this plugin is available in WP plugins repository. You MUST collect our mails for future notification !
    Good job !

  30. Carrie says:

Ooooh this is nice. Lightbox would be a great addition to it.

Testing your “Image Comment” application via my iPhone.
I hope you like my photos.
Ahh, first problem for me. The “Browse…” button does not appear so I can’t add images via my 3GS iPhone on Orange network in the UK.

  32. Kenn says:

Here as promised earlier are some of my pictures, including the screen-shot of my iPhone comment issue.

  33. I love the bookmark-me plugin but it died after my last WordPress.org upgrade. I’m now told I don’t have permission to go into the Bookmark-Me settings.
    : (
    But I really like THIS!
Keep up the great work. Hope the permissions glitch gets fixed (and your English is WAY better than my Italian!).
    Thank you thank you (Grazi!),
    Heather

    looks like another great plugin.
