SMTP

The SMTP plugin for WordPress is the simplest plugin to connect your site to an SMTP service.

It has only what you need. Five configuration fields, one test button. No more, no less. Its resource consumption is near zero. No traces are left when you uninstall it. Email content is left untouched.

Connecting your site to an SMTP service is more than recommended. Typically, every hosting provider offers an SMTP service, which is far more reliable than the standard email service included with the hosting plan.

First installation and Support

You need to download the ZIP package and install it from Plugins/Add New/Upload.

After the first installation, the plugin will update automatically.

You can always update it by hand, downloading and reinstalling the ZIP.

If you need support, please contact me directly until I set up a support page.

Tips and Tricks

If you need to log all sent emails for debug or other purposes, consider the Monitor plugin or the WP Mail Logging plugin.

If you want to use a professional email delivery service, everyone provides at least the SMTP option. Once you have an account and followed the configuration procedures (they can require a technician), use the SMTP parameter to set up the connection.

Some are: Sendgrid, Amazon SES, Mailjet, Mailgun, Elastic Email, Sparkpost, Postmark, SMTP.com, SMTP2Go, Mailersend.
